Local HTTPS: screen always on and installed app

Install Halyx's local certificate on iPad, Android, Windows or Mac to keep the screen on during the show and install the console like an app.

Why local HTTPS

Over HTTP, all control works. Over HTTPS, browsers also let you keep the screen on during the show and install the app properly. The account password is only accepted over HTTPS (or over HTTP from the engine machine).

Install the certificate

  1. On the device, open http://<engine address>:7810/installer.
  2. Follow the steps for your system: profile on iPad and iPhone, certificate on Android, Windows or Mac.
  3. Then open https://<engine address>:7811.

The engine creates its own certificate authority. It only covers the local network (localhost, .local names, private addresses, the 2.x.x.x Art-Net network): even copied, it cannot impersonate another site.

Without HTTPS

Set the tablet's auto-lock to Never during the show: Settings reminds you.
