About Halyx

Halyx started from a simple observation: a real lighting console shouldn't require hardware, when everyone already owns tablets and a PC.

Halyx built-in 3D visualizer in full view, front angle: moving-head beams crossing above the fashion show runway, rendered in real time through haze.

A control-room instrument

Halyx is designed as a tool for working in the dark, not as just another app. Every choice comes from the craft or a standard: a grey interface that doesn't distort colours, an all-red Night theme, large touch targets, dangerous actions you have to hold, anomalies always visible. The only real colour on screen is the light.

Simple principles

  1. A visible gesture rather than a syntax: no command line to learn.
  2. The engine computes, the operator describes: "red", "aim at this point on stage", "as a wave over 2 s".
  3. No hidden mechanism: a cue contains everything you see.
  4. A show is never cut: licence valid 7 days offline, show saved continuously.

Reference hardware

Halyx is developed and tested with an ODE MK3 node (Art-Net) and a LumenRadio CRMX Luna transmitter, on a 277-device demo show: 178 moving heads, PARs, bars, profiles, strobes, lasers and special effects. Library profiles are taken from manufacturers' documentation, with their source on every page.
